Generally, we hope the dual-degree programme students could complete 40 credits during their one-year study, that includes,

- 8 credits of general English

- 16 credits of departmental required courses

- 9 credits of departmental selective courses; and

- 7 credits of general selective courses.

And because all courses are conducted in English, IELTS 4.5 (or similar) might be a satisfactory level in the students' English proficiency.

Otherwise, they might need to take some extra English courses.

(Of course these are still open to discussion.)

Also, for those whose ability is above TOEIC 900 (or similar), the 8-credit General English can be waived, so that the students could take more advanced courses.

For our scholarship, we have two kinds of scholarships:
1. Full scholarship: Covers tuition & sundry fee , provides a year of free Chinese language course
2. Partial scholarship:  Covers half of the tuition & sundry fee, provides a year of free Chinese Language course.

This scholarship is granted to students based on your academic performance and study plan. And the good news is we have up to 50 quotas for the full scholarship, and 100 for the partial scholarship. In other words, I think you will have a high chance of getting it.
In addition, the living cost in Taiwan is relatively lower, which is usually around USD3,500/ year.

And another good news is that Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also offer a scholarship to international students. The amount is higher than our own scholarship.

* Please note that you can only choose to accept one of them in the future.  Therefore, I would suggest you to apply for both of them, and wait for the result.
